Trojans Fall to Nationally-Ranked Ole Miss

Troy returns to action tomorrow at Mississippi State

OXFORD, Miss. – The Troy University women's tennis team fell to 22nd-ranked Ole Miss, 7-0 at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon.
Vivian Vlarrr her winning streak alive and remained undefeated (6-0) with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Troy's Olivia Battye at number six singles. The Rebs' other freshman, Caroline Rodhe-More downed Troy senior Leonie Guijt 6-2, 6-1 on court three to make it 3-0, and then junior Abby Guthrie clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 4 against Lyubov Dorofeeva.
Junior All-American Kristi Boxx defeated Kristi Boxx defeated Troy's Karoline Grymel 6-0, 6-3; while seniors Conner Vogel and Laura van de Stroet completed the sweep for Ole Miss with straight set wins at number two and five singles.
Ole Miss was able to sweep through the doubles action to take the 7-0 lead.
The Trojans finish off the weekend series as they travel to Mississippi State tomorrow afternoon, before returning home.
