Martin, TN. - The Troy rodeo teams traveled up to the University of Tennessee Martin this past weekend to compete in one of their last regularly scheduled events of the 2009-2010 season.
"The weekend went well," said head Coach Josh Simmons. "The teams have been practicing very hard hoping to make it into the finals."
Both men's and women's teams show that even though their season maybe closing, they are not done yet. The women's team finished the event in fourth place while the men's team finished in second.
Kyle Wyatt ended the weekend third place in the men's all-around. Trojans saw their fair share of first places this weekend with William Bradley finishing first in tie down roping, Clint Keller first place in team roping and Marla Seidelman receiving first place in goat tying.
One of the biggest accolades from the weekend came with William Bradley being elected the new Student Director for the Ozark Region. After being nominated, William was voted on by each team.
"Will receiving this position is a really good thing. It basically makes him the president of the student body for the region," said Coach Simmons.
The Trojans are preparing hard for their next event but aren't forgetting that finals will be right around the corner.
"One of our goals has been to qualify for the National Rodeo Finals as a team and we're in reach of that," said Coach Simmons.
The Trojans finish up the regular season April 22 - 24 in Monticello, AR. For complete results visit: collegerodeo.com
