The Trojans Will Be Sending Nine Team Members Into The Finals Tomorrow Night
TROY, Ala. - The Trojan Stampede headed into its second night of competition with the Trojans sitting well in the standings.
There will be nine Trojans competing in tomorrow's short round: in calf roping: Jeb Brown and Stetson Aldridge; goat tying: Kassandra Smith; team roping: Ty Pigott, Lane Taylor and Jacob Anderson; breakaway roping: Kassandra Smith and Cassidy Aldridge; and in steer wrestling: Will Bradley.
The Trojans may be able a bull rider coming back for Saturday's events as well, with only three competitors making the eight-second time. A draw will take place for the other spots in the finals.
The Trojans have three members in the top three in their events heading into the finals: Jacob Amerson who is tied for first in team roping with his partner Tyler Kile from University of Arkansas-Monticello; Cassidy Aldridge is sitting at third in breakaway roping and Stetson Aldridge is tied for second in calf roping.
“We had a really strong morning, the competition is great and the kids moral is really up,” Troy head coach Josh Simmons said. “We are really looking forward to tomorrow night, we have a strong team coming back tomorrow.”
The Trojan Stampede will continue Saturday night in its last night of competition starting at 7.
