TROY, Ala. - The Troy Rodeo team completed their home event, the Trojan
Stampede last night at Pike Cattleman's Park.
"The whole event went really well," said head coach Josh Simmons. "We had
some outstanding competition and bulls. The stock conditions hurt us a
little bit, but morale is still good. This weekend put a little more fight
in us for next week's competition at UWA. Overall the Trojans fought well."
The women's team finished with a score of 62.5. Allyson Hayes finished the
weekend second in Barrel Racing with a score of 34.31.
The men's team finished the weekend with a score of 30 points. Freshman
Maverick Becht finished with a strong performance in Calf Roping. According
to Simmons, Becht has been working very hard and it is finally starting to
pay off.
"I felt that I did really good in calf roping forcing the average," said
Maverick Becht. "I struggled a little in team roping but will be working
hard on both events this week."
The Trojan Rodeo team will be back in action next weekend, October 22 - 24
at the University of West Alabama.
