TROY, Ala. ? Troy rodeo has an athlete with all
the criteria for Academic All-American status for the first time in program
history.
Junior Andy Seiler has qualified for the award after posting
a 3.76 grade point average for the spring semester, bringing his cumulative gpa
to a 3.51.
“It is such an honor to be the first for Troy,” Seiler said. “I have been working to
get there and I so happy to final achieve the status.”
In order to qualify for the honor, an athlete must have a
cumulative gpa of 3.5 or higher and qualify to compete at the College National
Finals Rodeo.
Seiler has qualified for the third straight year to the CNFR
in the team roping competition.
Troy
will be sending a total of eight athletes, five men and three women, competing
in five different events.
The Trojans begin competing at the CNFR from June 15-21 in Casper, Wyo.
