TROY, Ala. - After about a month layoff, the Troy rodeo team is back in the saddle again as they ride up to Murray State University for a 2-go rodeo.
The Trojan rodeo team has been away from competition since their last rodeo at home, which ended on October 18, and has had plenty of time to prepare for the rodeo double header this weekend.
“We've been working twice as hard and I think the team is most prepared for this rodeo,” said head coach Josh Simmons. “They have their “A” game on and I'm really excited about it."
With all the time between rodeos the Trojans have had an opportunity to dig deep, get back to the ropes and work hard on the fundamentals to make sure everyone's confidence is up, including working on the horses to get better as well.
“Our horses are looking good and the team is ready so I feel confident we can win,” said Simmons.
This weekend is a 2-go rodeo, meaning there will be a long go, the first round, on Thursday and the short go, the final round, on Friday and they will do it again on Saturday and Sunday.
This rodeo, which will begin on Thursday, November 20, 2009 and will run through Sunday, November 23, 2008, is the last rodeo of the 2008 year and will put the Trojans past the half way point of their season.
