Troy Rodeo Completes First Event

Freshman Laci Rucker led the women's team after winning the championship round, with a time of 4.6 seconds and won the overall average in the breakaway roping.
Rucker also earned points in the team roping with her partner and teammate Tabitha Kiker after being only one of four teams to capture two steers in the event.
Jake Thomas started his sophomore season qualifying for three events in the championship round.
Thomas earned points in the steer wrestling after turning in a time of 4.5 seconds. His time tied him for second place in the first round with Ty Atchison of UT-Martin.
Thomas also earned points in the championship round of the calf roping, turning in a time of 11.1 seconds, giving him a second place finish in the round and second place in the overall average.

Mary Owens placed in the first round of action in the breakaway along with the barrel racing competition and helped bring the women's team to a second place overall finish at the Missouri Valley College rodeo.
Others earning points were Stetson Aldridge in the calf roping, Mitch Dixon in steer wrestling, Shelby Osceola in goat tying, Dakota Misseldine and Jessica Osborne in breakaway roping, and Andy Seiler, Tim Spiller, and Kirk Sparks in team roping.
