MARSHALL, Mo. - Troy Rodeo gets back into action as they travel to Marshall, MO. for the Missouri Valley College rodeo, marking the beginning of the new season in the Ozark Region.
First year coach Paul Cave looks to add to a program that showed a lot of promise following a women's team regional championship and a National Champion Calf Roper in Ben Mayworth last year.
"We are really excited about getting back on the rodeo road," Cave said. "We have been practicing hard and I think we are ready for another good season with this young and talented team."
Other contenders in the region are last year's runner-up team in the women's competition, the University of West Alabama, and 2006-07's men's team champion, the University of Tennessee-Martin.
The Ozark Region will host ten rodeos throughout the fall and spring, with the home rodeo for Troy being held October 11-13 at the Pike County Cattlemen's Association Complex.
This weekend's rodeo will be September 20-22 starting at 7:30 p.m. nightly. Stay tuned to TroyTrojans.com for more information as it becomes available.
