Pair of Trojans Occupy Top Slots After Round One

TROY, Ala.- Reigning National Champion Ben Mayworth along with fellow Trojan Clint Keller occupy first and second place, respectively in the calf roping after the first round.

“I was glad that we had some kids really come through in front of our fans,” coach Paul Cave said.

“We need to step it up and now is the best time.”

Keller also qualified for the championship round in the team roping with his partner and teammate Ty Ethridge.

Jessica Osborne won the first round and qualified for the championship round in the breakaway roping with a time of 2.7 seconds.

Senior Jackie Jacobs round out the top five in the breakaway roping with a time of 3.0 seconds and will be back for her last championship round in Troy.

The championship round will be held at the Pike County Cattlemen's Complex Saturday night at 7:30 pm.
