Trojans Finish 49th at CFNR

Casper, Wyo. - The Troy University men's rodeo team finished 49th at the College National Finals Rodeo held in Casper, Wyo., June 12-18. It was the first appearance for a Trojans team at the CNFR.Sophomore Wes Brunson finished 20th in tie down roping, followed by Dustin Merritt who came in 33rd. Payton Sides came in 38th in the event. In steer wrestling, Chase Chapman, Merritt and Erin Bullin each finished in a tie for 25th. In the team roping event, Brunson and his partner Nick Kent from South Arkansas University finished in 14th place. Bullin and Chad Martin from West Alabama teamed up to take 28th in that event.We had a good week,” said TROY head coach Cliff Toliver. We had a few things that were beyond our control that hurt us, but overall we did well. We had more athletes competing than ever before, as it was the first time we had a team competing. Everything's growing and heading the right direction for us.”
