Trojans Win Fourth Straight Event

Troy's Camile Cox won the barrel racing event with a total time of 29.21 seconds. She finished second in the long go with a time of 14.74 seconds, and won the short go with a time of 14.57 seconds. Fellow Trojan Randa Dewees came in third in the barrel racing average with a total time of 29.44 seconds. Dewees finished second in the short go with a time of 14.54 seconds.
Heather Cave finished fourth in the breakaway roping with a total time of 7.9 seconds. She also finished fourth in the short go with a time of 3.8 seconds.
Jackie Jacobs finished third in goat tying with a total time of 16.9 seconds. Jacobs came in fourth in the long go with a time of 8.5 seconds and fifth in the short go with a time of 8.4 seconds. Melissa Revill finished sixth in the goat tying average with a total time of 17.4 seconds. Revill came in third in the short go with a time of 8.1 seconds.
A trio of Trojans finished second, third and fourth in calf roping. Wes Brunson came in second with a total time of 20.3 seconds. Brunson finished fifth in the long go with a time of 10.3 seconds, and finished second in the short go with a time of 10.0 seconds. Ben Mayworth finished third in the average with a total time of 20.8 seconds. Mayworth won the short go with a time of 9.5 seconds. Mark Weber finished fourth in the event with a total time of 24.3 seconds. Weber came in sixth in the long go with a time of 10.9 seconds. He finished fourth in the short go with a tie of 13.4 seconds.
Troy's Ace Campbell finished second in the team roping, along with his teammate from West Alabama, Tyler Pearson. That team won the long go with a time of 5.8 seconds, finished second in the short go with a time of 13.2 seconds, and their total time of 19.0 seconds gave them a second-place finish. Weber and Chase Chapman finished sixth in that event with a total time of 43.1 seconds. They also finished sixth in the short go with a time of 35.0 seconds. Mayworth and his partner, Ty Atchison from Tennessee-Martin, finished second in the long go with a time of 6.4 seconds.
This was a good way for us to finish the semester,” Troy head coach Cliff Toliver said. The girls have won four in a row, and they're up 300 points in the standings.”The Murray State Rodeo was the final event for the fall semester. The teams will begin the second half of their seasons in the spring.
