Trojan Women Win West Alabama Rodeo, Men Finish Third

Heather Cave came in second in the breakaway roping average with a total time of 6.2 seconds, and she had the fastest time of the night with 2.9 second finish in the long go. Cave came in with a time of 3.3 seconds in the short go, good for fourth place in the round.
Randa Dewees and Camile Cox came in first and second in barrel racing average, with times of 35.98 and 36.33 seconds, respectively. Cox won the long go with a time of 17.98 seconds, and Dewees finished second in that round with a time of 18.01 seconds. Dewees won the short go with a mark on 17.97 seconds, and Cox finished third with a time of 18.35 seconds.
Jackie Jacobs finished second in the short go of the goat-tying event, ending that round with a time of 11.1 seconds. She placed sixth in the average with an overall time of 22.6 seconds. Cave finished fourth in the long go of that event, finishing in 10.4 seconds.
On the men's side, Troy's duo of Andy Seiler and Zak Dobbins finished second in the average of the team roping event, finishing with a total time of 14.0 seconds. Seiler and Dobbins finished first in the short go with a time of 6.3 seconds. Troy's Ace Campbell paired with West Alabama's Tyler Pearson for the team roping event. That team finished fifth in the long go with a time of 7.3 seconds, fourth in the short go with a time of 12.1 seconds, and the finished third in the average with a total time of 19.4 seconds.
Campbell finished third in the long go in calf roping with a time of 10.1 seconds, and Dobbins finished fifth in that round with a time of 10.4 seconds. Ben Mayworth finished fifth in the short go with a time of 11.1 seconds, and he finished fifth in the average with at total time of 21.9 seconds.
Troy's next event will be November 17-19 when they travel to Kentucky to compete in the Murray State rodeo.
