Riley Schwietz enters her sixth season as an assistant coach for the Trojans, where she oversees jumps, hurdles, and multis. ย
Schwietzโs fifth season as assistant coach saw her continue the family legacy as she coached her sister Kady to a gold medal at the Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships for the heptathlon. Her sister broke the Troy program record as an All-Sun Belt First Team member with 3,809 points, breaking her record set in 2017. She also led a bright young freshman in Aaliyah Murphy to the program record in the 400m hurdles with a 59.94 at the Doc Anderson Invitational with three first-place finishes in 2025.
This past season, Schwietz helped propel Jaggerd Moore to the fifth highest high jump in Troy history at 2.10m which sent him to the NCAA East Preliminary after claiming five gold medals in 2023. She also coached her sister Kady to a first-place finish at the Samford Challenge with 4,428 points.ย
In her tenure, Schwietz has coached a Sun Belt champion and NCAA qualifier (Maja Kuessner), one Sun Belt Champion (Kady Schwietz)ย a pair of Sun Belt silver medalists (Maja Kuessner and assisted Lauren Locke) and a duo of Sun Belt scorers (Jade Johnson and assisted Blake Vaughn). Schwietz also assisted the women's squad, setting pair of school records and tallied a second and a third-place finish in the Sun Belt Indoor Championships (2019 and 2020). ย
Schwietz joined Davisโ staff after a storied career with the Trojans as a student-athlete. Schwietz is a two-time record holder in the heptathlon and pentathlon and ranks second all-time in the javelin throw.ย ย ย
The thrower was a 2018 NCAA javelin throw qualifier and earned a pair of silver medals in the heptathlon and javelin throw (2018). ย
Schwietz was also a standout student-athlete off the track, where she received the 2018 Troy Strength and Conditioning award and 2017 Trojan Inspire Award. She also spent three years as a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. ย
The Frisco, Texas native completed her bachelor of science in hospitality, sport & tourism management in 2017 and earned her MBA with a concentration in global business in 2019. ย
