Daniel Bustamante enters his first season as a student assistant with the Troy men's tennis team after a four year career with the Trojans.
After coming to Troy in 2013, Bustamante racked up 54 singles wins in his career and another 15 victories in doubles play. Bustamante earned victories over ranked opponents throughout his career, knocking off opponents from Alabama, Florida State and Florida Gulf Coast among others.
He was named to the All-Sun Belt Singles Team in 2014 after he had a record of 14-12 as a sophomore. In that season he defeated regionally-ranked Wilfredo Gonzalez of No. 65 Miami and pushed the nation's seventh ranked player in Nik Scholtz of Ole Miss to the third set in the ITA Southern Regional Championship.
Bustamante hails from Bauru, Brazil and his brother, Rodolfo, was a former tennis player at TCU.
