Trent Patterson begins his second season as Troy's director of basketball operations and fifth full-time season on the basketball staff in 2022-23.
Patterson has risen through the program ranks after beginning as a student manager from 2016-18. Following his graduation, the Dothan, Ala., native was a graduate assistant for the program during the 2018-19 season before taking over the role of video coordinator in Scott Cross' first season.
Throughout his tenure, Patterson has been in charge of filming all games and practices to prepare the videos for film sessions as a manager. As a graduate assistant, Patterson handled the breakdown and analysis of the opponent film, served as the liaison with the athletic department and managed the ordering of all team gear.
Patterson's role upgraded as the video coordinator as he managed the breakdown of team and opponent video, assisted with analytics, handled all team gear necessities and helped with any administrative responsibilities assigned by the head coach.
In his current role, Patterson coordinates all team travel, manages all film operations, orders team gear, and aids in film analysis and analytics.
Patterson earned his bachelor's degree from Troy in hospitality, sport and tourism management in 2018 and his master's degree from Troy in sport and fitness management in 2020.
