Soccer Closes Non-Conference Play Against Alcorn State

TROY, Ala. - Troy soccer concludes the non-conference portion of its schedule on Sunday afternoon by hosting Alcorn State at the Troy Soccer Complex.Â
The Trojans (1-5-1) enter the matinee following a 3-1 Labor Day defeat to West Florida. The Argonauts went ahead in the 13th minute and maintained the lead the rest of the way. In the 68th minute, Brooke Slater was shown a red card for denying a goal-scoring opportunity. The red card results in an automatic one-game suspension, forcing Slater to miss Sunday's match.Â
Alcorn State (3-3) is coming off a 4-1 win over Jacksonville State on Thursday. The Braves are led offensively by Grace Ambrose, who scored twice in the win to give her eight goals on the season, tied for third in the country.Â
