Track and Field Heads to Mobile for Sun Belt Outdoor Championships

TROY, Ala. – Troy track and field is set for the Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Championships in Mobile, Ala. on May 14-16.
The meet is set to begin Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m. with the men's decathlon, followed by the women's heptathlon at 11 a.m. The field events will begin at 12 p.m. with the women's hammer throw, followed by the men at 2:30 p.m.
Aaliyah Murphy, who holds the program record of 58.71 in the 400m hurdles looks to improve on her second-place finish in the event from last year. Michael Eady, who currently sits at the top of the conference in the men's 100 in 10.24 is also looking to improve on his fifth-place finish from last year's championship.
Rachel Whyte, the reigning Sun Belt Female Athlete of the Week looks to contest the stacked women's 400m and bring home a medal in the event. Whyte ran 53.61 in the final meet of the regular season and has been constantly improving her time throughout the season.
