Men’s Golf Closes Fall Slate at Qubein Cup

TROY, Ala. – The Troy men's golf team wraps its busy fall schedule with a trip to the Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C., for the Qubein Cup, hosted by High Point.
The tournament is Troy's fifth of the fall, including four straight weeks of competition. The Trojans enter the week ranked No. 91 nationally in the initial rankings released Wednesday.
Troy has 220 birdies through its first four tournaments, 59 more than the Sun Belt average, led by 50 from Jack Lowery, 46 from Pablo Gracia and 44 from Lee Poppell.
Three different Trojans have carried the top bag in the four events; Lowery held the top spot in the first two tournaments before Gracia and Thomas Crane took the top card the last two weeks, respectively.
Gracia and Crane lead Troy with nine under-par rounds on the year and hold the top scoring averages at 70.75 and 71.17, respectively. As a team, Troy has played nine of its 12 rounds under-par, and Trojan golfers have a collective 33 rounds in the red.
Head coach Clay Bounds will roll out the same lineup for a fifth straight tournament, with Lawton Emblom rounding out the top five. Emblom is coming off his best tournament of the fall, which included a pair of 1-under rounds. Lawton's twin brother, Haston, will make his season debut, playing as an individual.
Teams will play 36 holes on Monday and finish with 18 holes on Tuesday.
