Track and Field Heads to the 130th Penn Relays

Troy, Ala. – For the fourth year in a row, Troy track and field is set to compete at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia from April 23-25.
The 130th Penn Relays is set to begin on Thursday evening at 5:30 p.m. with Aaliyah Murphy competing in the women's college 400m hurdles championship, followed by Jasai Taylor in the men's section.
Murphy holds a personal best of 59.17 in the event and looks to continue her dominant season over the hurdles. Taylor holds a personal best of 51.84 in the 400-meter hurdles, which he ran at the Doc Anderson Invitational earlier this season.
Last year at Penn Relays, the Trojans had multiple top 10 finishes in both the field events and on the track. Darius Sylvester threw a personal best of 16.24m in the men's shot put to finish seventh overall and Tayjo Oppong grabbed eighth in the discus throw in 48.72m.
The quartet of Kady Schwietz, Haley Wilson, Jasmine Jimenez and Aaliyah Murphy finished sixth in the 4x400 final in 3:46.78.
