Track and Field Wraps Up Three Days of Competition at Penn Relays

Philadelphia, Pa. – Troy track and field concluded three days of competition at the historic Penn Relays with a new school record and two podium finishes.
On Thursday, Aaliyah Murphy shattered her own program record in the 400m hurdles for the second time this season, with a blazing time of 58.71. Murphy continues to improve on the program record as she broke it once last season and twice this season.
In the field, Tayjo Oppong earned silver in the men's discus with a personal best throw of 53.58m. Malik Humphrey also collected a podium finish in the men's long jump with a leap of 7.27m to finish third.
Shanyah Washington ran 11.57 on Friday afternoon to qualify for the college women's 100m final on Saturday. In the championship final, Washington finished fourth overall in 11.98.
The Trojans are back in action next weekend in Nashville for the Music City Challenge on May 1-2.
