Troy Closes Homestand with Jax State

TROY, Ala. - Troy Baseball closes out its homestand on Tuesday with a 6 p.m. game against Jacksonville State.
The Trojans are coming off a crucial 2-1 series victory over Louisiana, which saw them storm back from down four runs in Friday's 7-6 win and from down six runs in Sunday's 15-11 victory. In the finale, the Trojans scored 12 runs in the final four innings, including seven runs on seven hits and two walks in the seventh.
Jimmy Janicki put an exclamation point on the weekend with a walk-off grand slam with the game tied 11 apiece in the ninth. The sophomore catcher totaled seven RBIs in the series, hitting an RBI double in each game. Senior two-way player Drew Nelson homered twice on the weekend and earned the win on the mound in the finale, pitching the final two innings.
