Softball Resumes Sun Belt Play by Inviting Southern Miss

TROY, Ala. – Riding a five-game win streak, the Troy softball team invites Southern Miss to the Troy Softball Complex from Friday, March 27, to Sunday, March 29, to continue its Sun Belt Conference slate.
Troy (21-10, 3-3 SBC) swept Georgia State last weekend for its first league sweep since 2023 and ride five straight wins, which is the sixth 5-plus win streak in head coach Eric Newell's tenure. They also come off their 500th win at the Troy Softball Complex in game two against the Panthers. With a 15-2 record this season at home, the Trojans are 501-257-3 overall.
Against the Golden Eagles (23-13, 4-2 SBC), the Trojans lead the overall series 20-8 with a 4-2 record at home. They look to avenge a series loss to the Golden Eagles last season, where the Trojans fell 2-1 in the series at Hattiesburg. Troy looks to Kiley Huffman, who's fresh off a 4-for-4 showing at Kennesaw State with three RBIs, including an inside-the-park home run for her first career homer.
