Men’s Tennis Proves Victorious Over Alcorn State and Mississippi Valley State

Alcorn, Miss. - Troy men's tennis overcomes Alcorn State, 7-0, and Mississippi Valley State, 5-0, at the Pepsi Tennis Center on Sunday to finish its weekend of matchups.
Troy (16-4) earned the doubles point with freshmen Ryusei Miyazato and Stephan Tavares Noale winning on Court 3, 6-1, as junior Luciano Alcocer and senior Yeray Andres Pastor won on Court 1, 6-4, shortly after.
Sophomores Henrique de Brito and Thiago Drozdowski also won on Court 2, 7-5, during doubles play, marking their first win as a pair in doubles this season. Alcocer and Pastor are now 2-0 in doubles this season, while Miyazato and Noale are now 3-0 in doubles.
The Trojans then went on to crush the Braves in singles play, claiming all six courts.
As Troy took on Mississippi Valley State later on in the day, there were no doubles point and only five singles matches. The Trojans claimed each of those matches with straight sets wins.
Hiiro Sakamoto is now 14-0 in singles this season, having the most singles wins on the team.
The Trojans are now on a nine-match winning streak.
