Troy Takes on Samford in Midweek Contest

TROY, Ala. – The Troy softball team is set to travel to Birmingham, Ala., to play Samford in a midweek matchup on Tuesday. The Trojans (16-10, 0-3 SBC) look to improve on their 3-0 midweek record with a game against the Bulldogs (9-19, 0-0 SoCon).

The Trojans take on Samford for the first time this season, dropping two games to the in-state school last season. Overall, Troy holds a 46-16 record against the Bulldogs.

Ella Cunningham had a strong week against Alabama State and South Alabama, striking out 25 batters in 12 innings pitched across two starts. Following the two starts, the two-way player leads the Sun Belt Conference with 10 strikeouts per seven innings. From the plate, Cunningham hit three homers and went 6-for-14.
