Men’s Tennis Falls to Samford

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Troy men's tennis fell short to Samford, 4-3, after a close match Sunday afternoon.
Troy (5-3) started off the match strong in doubles against Samford (4-3), earning the point with sophomore Thiago Drozdowski and freshman Stephan Tavares Noale winning on Court 1, 6-2, and junior Luciano Alcocer and freshman Ryusei Miyazato winning on Court 2, 6-3.
The Bulldogs caught up with the Trojans during the singles matches as freshman Lukas Dvorak and junior Sebastian Harrison clinched straight-sets wins. Troy claimed straight-sets victories as well though sophomore Hirro Sakamoto and senior Yeray Andres Pastor, but it was senior Sandeep Mohandoss and sophomore Cooper Errey who gave Samford the upper hand it needed to win in singles point.
The Trojans will be back at home for their doubleheader matches against Coastal Alabama Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. and Spring Hill that afternoon at 2 p.m.
