Troy Sets Three Program Records at Jimmy Carnes Invitational

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Ethan Forbes, Jonas Kotuernka and Rachel Whyte etched their names into the Troy record book Friday, each setting new program marks to headline the Trojans' day at the Jimmy Carnes Invitational.
Forbes took home first place in the men's 800m with a time of 1:52.96, surpassing Chance Armstrong (2023 - 1:53.66) for the best indoor 800m time in Troy history while Koturenka broke his own record in the 1000m (2025.- 2:30.16), finishing in sixth place with a time of 2:25.35. Whyte's sixth-place finish in the 300m (38.57) set a new indoor record on the women's side, surpassing Precious Ogba (2019 - 39.41).
Rounding out the Trojans' performance was a top five finish from Haley Wilson in the women's 800m (4th - 2:12.94).
The Trojans return to action Jan. 23-24 at Clemson's Orange & Purple Invitational in Clemson, S.C.
