Forbes Breaks His Own Record as Troy Shines at Orange and Purple Invitational

TROY, Ala. – Ethan Forbes continues to dominate for the Trojans, following another school record-breaking performance to headline Troy Track & Field's day at Clemson's Orange and Purple Invitational.
Forbes continues to shine for Troy, bringing home another first-place finish in the men's indoor 800m with a time of 1:50.11, breaking the previous record that he set last week of 1:52.96.
Travis Massey finished third in the men's 60m final with a time of 6.82. Massey qualified for final after running 6.85 in the preliminary heats and 6.80 in the semifinals. Michael Eady (6.85), Tydreke Thomas (6.94) and Kendrick Price (6.99) also qualified for the 60m semifinal.
Pierre Boerkey (2:28.87) ran the second fastest time in school history in the men's 1,000m.
On the women's side, Rachel Whyte continues to rewrite the record books as well. Whyte qualified for the women's 60m semifinal with a time of 7.55 and finished the day with a personal best of 7.50, which is the third fastest time in Troy history.
The quartet of Rachel Whyte, Kady Schwietz, Haley Wilson and Zoe Smith ran a season's best in the 4x400 relay to finish sixth in 3:47.64.

The Trojans are back at Clemson next weekend for the Bob Pollock Invitational from Friday, January 30th, to Saturday, January 31st.
