Men's Tennis Falls at No. 22 Florida State in Spring Opener

Tallahassee, Fla. - Troy men's tennis opened its spring season on Sunday morning, falling 4-0 to No. 22 Florida State at the Scott Speicher Memorial Tennis Center.

The Trojans' day was highlighted in doubles play, as the pairing of Luciano Alcocer and Thiago Drozdowski earned a 6-3 victory on Court 3. However, Florida State secured the doubles point with wins on Courts 1 and 2.

In singles action, the Seminoles claimed three straight-set victories to clinch the match. On Court 2, Yeray Andres Pastor held a 6-5 lead in the second set when Florida State secured the fourth point. Andres Pastor dropped the first set, 6-2.

Additionally, Stephan Tavares Noale took the opening set of his match on Court 5, 7-5, before the match was halted during the second set following the overall match clinch for the seminoles.

Troy will stay in Florida, traveling south to take on Miami on Tuesday at 10 a.m. CT.
