DELAND. Fla. - Troy soccer wrapped up its non-conference slate with a dominant 3-1 win over Stetson on Thursday night.

The Trojans (5-2-0) fell early when Mazzaferro tapped in a Brooke Voorhees corner kick in the seventh minute to put the Hatters (3-5-0) up 1-0. It only took Troy two minutes to net the equalizer, as Elsa Stedman booted a free kick into the box from near midfield, finding Alaina Uncapher, who knocked it into the goal off her left foot.

Troy kept its foot on the gas, holding Stetson to just one shot on target the rest of the match. Shots were even at 10 a piece, but the Trojans recorded four shots on goal to Stetson's two.

Danielle Trovato provided a spark off the bench after entering in the 28th minute, one-timing a pass from Alaina Uncapher just four minutes later to give Troy a halftime lead.

In the second half, Melanie Oldner beat the defense on the backside for her first career goal, as Grace DeShetler delivered a strike to the freshman off a pass from Megan Hamm, as DeShetler and Hamm each picked up their second assists of the season.

Notables

Alaina Uncapher set a new career high in points (3). It was the first time in her career that she scored a goal and recorded an assist in the same match.
Danielle Trovato scored her first career goal in the 32nd minute.
Freshman Melanie Oldner scored her first career goal in the 49th minute.
Uncapher, Grace DeShetler, and Megan Hamm each recorded their second assists of the season. The three are now tied for the team lead in assists.
Trovato and Oldner each scored their goals after coming off the bench. It's the first time Troy had two non-starters score a goal since Julianne Hester and KK Pawelczyk scored off the bench in a 7-1 win over ULM.
Goalkeeper Taylor Richards improved to 5-1-0 on the season, recording one save and allowing one goal. Her 0.83 goals against average leads the Sun Belt.

From there, we started to dominate the game a bit more in the first half and got rewarded with Danielle's goal after some great work from Alaina. In the second half, even though we scored, I felt we lost some of our discipline and gave up too much to them - but we grinded it out and got a good win on the road."
