Men’s Golf Returns to Action at The Old Corkscrew Invitational

TROY, Ala. – Fresh off a well-deserved break, the Troy men's golf team heads into the home stretch of its season with a trip to Estero, Fla., for the Old Corkscrew Intercollegiate, hosted by Florida Gulf Coast at the Old Corkscrew Golf Course.

Troy enters its final two tournaments of the season ranked No. 52 in the country, paced by Brantley Scott, the nation's No. 28 individual golfer following his return to the lineup this spring. The Trojans should be inside the number for an at-large spot into the NCAA Regionals if the season ended today and can solidify their position in their final two events ahead of the Sun Belt Championship.

Jake Springer became the first Trojan in more than two decades to win multiple events in a season after his win at The All-American two weeks ago, as Troy finished second. The Trojans have a win and two second place finishes in their last three events.

Springer moved under par (-0.13) for the year with his performance, while Scott sits at -0.33 for the year in his 11 rounds. Nick Fowlkes is hovering around the red line at 0.13 with individual rounds under-par on the season, while Lee Poppell and Pablo Gracia have combined for 11 rounds in the red.

Troy is averaging under-par as a team in the spring, with a 286.17 scoring average over its four events since the winter break, while Scott, Springer and Fowlkes all have scoring averages in the 71 range for the spring.
