Troy Hosts In-State Rivals for Crucial Series

TROY, Ala. – Following a series win at Georgia State, the Troy softball team is one win away from clinching a Sun Belt Tournament spot. The Trojans (31-22, 10-11 SBC) will square off against South Alabama (19-29, 8-12 SBC) with a spot to the conference tournament – hosted in Troy – on the line. On and off the field, Troy will honor its five senior: Taylor McKinney, Cassidy Boltz, Natalie Turner, Sarah Beth Brake and Annie Orman.
Troy's (31-22, 10-11 SBC) seniors enter their final home series and will be celebrated when Senior Day rolls around on the final game of the series. McKinney keeps climbing up the Troy record books – her career home run total is tied for third in program history, and she is towards the top of the rankings in many other categories.
To help celebrate senior day and the rivalry against the Jaguars (19-29, 8-12 SBC), Thursday offers the first 100 fans a free Troy softball rally towels before Friday sees Student Appreciation Day provide the first 75 students to get a free giveaway of their choice from earlier in 2025 - they also enter into a Conecuh Sausage prize pack. The weekend culminates with senior day, which pairs with Superhero Saturday. A senior day poster will be given away to the first 250 fans, with the first 100 kids in attendance get a free power-T superhero cape.

Georgia State Recap
Although the Trojans couldn't get the sweep over Georgia State last weekend, they traveled back to Troy with a series win. Troy hit nine home runs in the series win, two of which came off the bat of Boltz.
Boltz went 4-for-8 from the dish in the series, hitting two homers and drawing two walks. She was one of eight different Trojans to take a jog around the bases in Atlanta, Georgia.
Troy took a 13-6 win in the series opener, bashing five home runs, which is the most in a game since 2021. The Trojans quickly fought back from a 2-0 deficit to overwhelm the Panthers, and a five-run sixth inning put the game away.
Despite a two-homer game from Boltz and a two-hit game from Caiden Oliva, the Trojans dropped a 6-2 game the next day.
However, Troy fought back with a 10-0, run rule win on Sunday to take the series. Alyssa Faircloth fired a shutout from the circle and Makaley Boswell launched a three-run home run to put the game into run rule territory.
A Look at South
The Jaguars come into Troy on a two-game win streak after beating ULM at home last weekend.
South Alabama took the win over the Warhawks behind pitcher Ryley Harrison, who threw a complete game in game two before throwing three scoreless innings out of the bullpen on Sunday. Harrison has a 2.79 ERA in 100 innings pitched this season.
From the plate, Gabby Stagner has posted a 1.131 OPS while crushing 11 home runs and pushing across 40 runs. As a group, the Jaguars hitters have been patient – South Alabama has taken 169 walks this season, third most in the Sun Belt.
