Men’s Tennis Hosts Georgia State for Regular Season Finale

TROY, Ala. – The Troy men's tennis team looks to end the regular season on a high note, as it welcomes Georgia State to the Lunsford Tennis Complex on Saturday for its final match before the Sun Belt Tournament gets underway. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
Troy (17-7, 3-3 SBC) has won its last three matches, including an impressive 4-3 win over Louisiana last time out. Prior to Saturday's match, Troy will recognize its three seniors – Nicolas Simkin, Noah Martens and Vicente Arbelaez.
The Trojans sit fifth in the Sun Belt standings and have the third-longest winning streak in he conference. Five players have double-digit wins this season dual season in singles play and are led by Hiiro Sakamoto's 19-3 record. Arbelaez has the longest winning streak on the team, having picked up a victory in his last five singles matches.
Yeray Andres Pastor (14-3), Luciano Alcocer (13-4), Henrique de Brito (10-7) and Noah Martens (10-9) have also had strong spring seasons thus far. As a team, Troy is 80-40 in singles matches since the start of dual play.
In doubles, the Trojans have posted a combined record of 38-19 and are 14-1 this season when winning the doubles point. The duo of Alcocer and de Brito have been the Trojans most successful doubles pairing during conference play, where they have posted a 3-0 record. Troy is 8-3 in doubles during conference matches.
Georgia State has struggled this season, posting a 5-13 (2-4 SBC) record. The Eagles have lost their last five matches, including a 4-0 loss to Georgia Southern last time out.
