Trojans Take on Georgia Southern in Weekend Series

TROY, Ala. – The Troy softball team hosts Georgia Southern this weekend as the Trojans (26-17, 5-7 SBC) face a tough Eagles (25-15, 9-3 SBC) team. Georgia Southern currently leads the Sun Belt Conference and is coming off a series win over Coastal Carolina.
While Troy has historically seen success against the Eagles, holding a 33-16 all-time record against them, Georgia Southern has improved a lot in the past few years. The Eagles secured their first 30-win season since 2016 last year and seem primed to do it again.

The Trojans held Alabama State scoreless behind strong outings from Alyssa Faircloth and Mya Holt. Faircloth pitched five innings and only allowed three hits, striking out four Hornets. In relief, Holt didn't allow a single baserunner in two innings of work.
