4/1/2025 3:17:00 PM | Baseball
TROY, Ala. - No. 18 Troy is back in action at Riddle-Pace Field on Wednesday with a midweek matchup against Florida A&M.
The Trojans faced the Rattlers down in Tallahasee, Fla., last week, coming out on top 10-8 after trailing 7-0 after the second inning. The seven-run deficit is tied for the largest known comeback in Troy history, as the Trojans hit four home runs, including one from Gavin Schrader, one from Brooks Bryan and the first two home runs of Dillon Kuehl's career to rocket themselves back into the ballgame.
Over the weekend, Troy won two of three games against Sun Belt opponent Marshall, to improve to 6-3 in league play and second in the Sun Belt standings. Bryan came in clutch again in Saturday's win, hitting a bases-clearing triple in the bottom of the eighth inning to give Troy the lead in the 4-3 victory.Â
Drew Nelson is slated to make his seventh start of the season against the Rattlers. The junior left-hander boasts a 3-0 record and a 4.61 ERA in 27.1 innings pitched this season. Nelson has racked up 20 strikeouts with 12 walks and has held opponents to a .267 batting average.
