TROY, Ala. – The Troy men's tennis team closes out its non-conference slate on Tuesday afternoon as it welcomes Jacksonville State to the Lunsford Tennis Complex for a 2 p.m. match. Live stream and live stats will be available on TroyTrojans.com.
Troy (12-4) is in the midst of a seven-match winning streak as it looks to carry strong momentum into conference play this coming weekend.
The Trojans are coming off a perfect week in which they defeated Alabama A&M 6-1 and Alabama State 5-2. It's been over a month since the Trojans last lost a match.
A key reason for the success has been the remarkable play from Luciano Alcocer and Hiiro Sakamoto, who are a combined 24-2 in singles since the start of dual play in January. The duo have also been paired in doubles this season, where they are a team-best 12-4 and have won their last five matches.
Sakamoto is riding an 11-match winning streak, while Alcocer's sits at 10.
Yeray Andres Pastor has also been impressive in singles, going 11-1 this spring. As a team, the Trojans have put together a 56-26 singles record.
Henrique de Brito and Andres Pastor are 7-0 in doubles this season. As a squad, Troy is 27-14 in doubles.
Jacksonville State (4-4) are coming off a 4-0 win over UNC Asheville at home on Friday. Matei Palcau leads the way with six singles wins.
