Troy Welcomes James Madison and Old Dominion

TROY, Ala. – The Troy men's tennis team returns to the Lunsford Tennis Complex this weekend, as it welcomes James Madison on Saturday and No. 60 Old Dominion on Sunday. First serve for both matches is set for 10 a.m.
Troy (14-7, 0-3 SBC) is still looking for its first conference win and is coming off a 4-2 loss to South Alabama on the road last Saturday. The Trojans three-match losing streak is their longest of the season.
While faltering as of late, Troy has still impressed in singles this season. As a team, it has put together a 71-37 record and are led by Hiiro Sakamoto and his 17-2 dual record. The Trojans have four players, including Sakamoto, with double-digit spring single wins. Yeray Andres Pastor and Luciano Alcocer each have 12, while Henrique de Brito has 10. Vicente Arbelaez has the longest winning-streak on the team right now, having won his last five matches.
Much of the same can be said about Troy's performance in doubles play, where it has posted a total record of 32-19. The duo of Alcocer and Sakakmoto are leading the charged with a 14-5 record. Pastor and de Brito have a 9-1 record when playing together. No other Troy pairing has more than three wins.
James Madison (5-8, 0-4 SBC) enters Saturday's contest dropping its last four matches. The Dukes last win came against UNC-Greensville on March 13. JMU is 23-45 in singles this spring and 14-18 in doubles. Old Dominion (11-8, 4-0 SBC) is the 60th ranked team in the country and is defeated South Alabama 4-3 on Friday.
