TROY, Ala. – The Troy men's tennis team got back into the win column with a resounding 4-0 victory over James Madison on Saturday morning at the Lunsford Tennis Complex.

Troy (15-7, 1-3 SBC) got its first Sun Belt win of the season in dominant fashion, dropping just one set in the entire match. James Madison (5-9, 0-4 SBC) had no answer for the Trojans, who are now 9-1 at home this season.

Henrique de Brito and Luciano Alcocer kicked things off in doubles with a 6-1 win in the No. 3 spot. Hiiro Sakamoto and Yeray Andres Pastor followed with another 6-1 win in the No. 2 spot to give the Trojans the crucial 1-0 early advantage. The third doubles match went unfinished knotted at 3-3.

In singles, Alcocer kicked things off by securing his 13th win of the season thanks to a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 6. Sakamoto pushed the Troy lead to 3-0 with a 6-2, 6-0 win at the No. 3 spot. Sakamoto is know 18-2 in singles this spring and has won his last three matches. Troy secured the match victory with a 6-3, 6-1 win by Nicolas Simkin at No. 2, who is now 6-10 in dual play.

The remaining three matches went unfinished with Troy leading in two of them and trailing in the other.
