Men's and Women's Tennis Earn ITA All-Academic Team Honors

TROY, Ala – Troy men's and women's tennis both earned 2026 ITA All-Academic Team distinctions while a combined 14 student-athletes were named ITA Scholar Athletes, the organization announced.
All eight members of the 2025-26 Troy women's team earned the title of Scholar Athletes, marking the second time in the past three years the entire team has received the honor. The honorees were Valeriia Avdeeva, Maria Guirguis, Hiba Heni, Sama Hindawy, Leena Metwally, Emilia Namyslo, Veena Nazar and Alexia Zarate. The women's side has now earned the All-Academic Team award in five consecutive seasons.
The team's two seniors, Guirguis and Avdeeva finished their collegiate career earning the distinction of Scholar Athlete all four years. Additionally, Nazar is a repeat honoree.
On the men's side, the Trojans earned the All-Academic Team honor for the eighth-straight year, with Yeray Andres Pastor, Louis Boilevin, Henrique de Brito, Thiago Drozdowski, Ausias Martin Melo and Ryusei Miyazato being named Scholar Athletes.
The distinctions mark the second ITA Scholar Athlete awards for Andres Pastor, Drozdowski, and Martin Melo.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, an individual must hold a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form. To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale).
