Troy Prepares for Southern Miss Invitational

TROY, Ala. – The Troy track & field program prepares for its third outdoor meet from Friday, March 28 to Saturday, March 29 at the Marshall Bell Track Complex for the Southern Miss Invitational.
Troy starts its competition at 2 p.m. on Friday with the men's hammer throw and continues with the women's triple jump and javelin throw. Saturday opens at 10 a.m. with the men's long jump and runs until the rolling schedule starts after the 110m hurdles for the men at 1:35 p.m.

The Trojans come off their second meet of the season, where they claimed five top 10 finishes at the USF Alumni Invitational. Shanyah Washington and Cadi Rowe led the women via the track events as Washington placed second in the women's 200m with a personal best of 23.80 – she moved up to fourth all-time in Troy history for the event.
Washington continued her weekend in the 100m dash, winning her heat and finishing eighth in the final event at 11.64. Rowe punched her ticket into the east preliminary postseason meet in the 5000m with a personal best time (16:53.48), which slid her up to second in the Trojan history books.
Tydreke Thomas headlined the men's side via the 100m events. He started solo, running his way to 10th at 10.37 to also secure a spot in the east preliminary list – Evan Brown and Noah Putnam also secured personal bests in the event at 10.55 and 10.78, respectively. Then, he joined forces with Brown, Keylan Hicks and Michael Eady in the 4x100m relay, timing at 40.69 for ninth.
