Alyssa Faircloth stifled the Badgers, throwing her first career complete game and striking out 10 batters, setting a career high. From the dish, true freshman Reaghan Oney had a breakout game. She went 3-for-3, mashing her first career home run and driving in four runs.
Oney finished the weekend with a 9-for-13 line, scoring four runs and sparking the lower portion of the lineup.
The Trojans came from behind in a 6-4 win over Kent State, scoring three runs in the sixth inning to top the Golden Flashes. Cassidy Boltz hit a home run in the win, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Boltz also homered in the second game of the day against South Florida.
Troy fell 10-8 to South Florida, losing a shootout despite 10 hits and eight runs from the offense. The Bulls used a five-run fourth inning to beat the Trojans.
Into the Swamp
Troy's weekend opponents are highlighted by the host team, Florida. The No. 3 ranked Gators sit at 19-1, with their lone loss coming to No. 14 Duke. Florida leads the nation in hits and home runs and has shut out nine opponents.
The Trojans start and end the tournament with matchups against Western Michigan, which is 5-8 so far this season. The Broncos have a win over Michigan State under their belt but have struggled to score runs aside from that.
On Friday, Troy is set for a rematch with Samford, who blanked the Trojans 12-0 earlier in the month. The Bulldogs have gone 7-3 since their first matchup with Troy. Samford is led by Katie Campbell, who has hit four home runs and slashed .413/.451/.804 in 2025.
The Trojans also face a familiar foe in Florida A&M – Troy is 53-15 all-time against the Rattlers. Florida A&M is on a five-game skid and holds a 3-9 record with wins over North Carolina A&T, Howard and Coppin State.
