Troy Takes Down Spring Hill, 6-1

TROY, Ala. – The Troy men's tennis team cruised to its fourth straight win on Tuesday afternoon, as it defeated Spring Hill College 6-1 at the Lunsford Tennis Complex.
Troy (9-4) was firing on all cylinders as it won its eighth match in the line nine contests. Things got started quick in doubles, as Hiiro Sakamoto and Luciano Alcocer picked up their ninth double win as a duo with a 6-0 victory in the No. 3 spot.
Yeray Andres Pastor and Henrique de Brito clinched the important first point in the No. 2 spot with a 6-1 win. The pairing remains undefeated this spring at 6-0. Despite Troy winning the doubles point already, the final match was played out with Spring Hill getting a 6-4 win.
Prior to the start of singles, both teams agreed to play all six matches regardless of score. The Trojans kicked things off with a win in the No. 5 spot, as Sakamoto picked up his 10th win of the year with a 6-2, 6-2 victory.
Andres Pastor followed with a 6-2, 6-2 win in the No. 2 spot, as he moves to 8-1 on the year. Alcocer clinched the match and also moved to 8-1 on the season, as he registered a 6-3, 6-3 victory in the No. 6 spot.
On court 4, de Brito had a 6-4, 6-0 victory to make it 5-0 Trojans. Troy's final point of the match came courtesy of a 6-3, 6-2 win by Noah Martens in the No. 3 spot. Spring Hill's lone point of the match came in the top singles spot.

Troy is back in action on Saturday, as it travels to Orlando, Fla., for a neutral match against South Carolina State. First serve is set for 9 a.m.
