LAREDO, Texas – Troy sits in 10th place following Monday's opening two rounds of The Border Olympics held at the Laredo Country Club; the Trojans are just nine shots back of sixth in a jumbled field.
The Trojans found themselves in sixth place following a 3-over in the morning round but shot a collective 20-over on the second trip through the course to slip four spots into 10th place.
Pablo Gracia is Troy's clubhouse leader at 4-over on the par-71 course after shooting 75 in the first round and even-par in the second round. He carded three birdies in the second round after not finding a single birdie in the opening round.
Louisiana holds a 3-shot advantage over No. 47 Houston heading into Tuesday's final round, while New Mexico State, Michigan and Miami (Ohio) round out the top five. Troy sits 23-over par for the event, while Michigan and Miami (Ohio) sit 11-over.
