Women’s Basketball Heads to Kansas State for First Road Matchup

TROY, Ala. – After a historic 3-0 start to the 2025-26 season with double-digit wins in each game, the Troy women's basketball program hits the road for its first test away from Trojan Arena on Tuesday, Nov. 18, when the team faces Kansas State at 6:30 p.m. at Bramlage Coliseum.
At 3-0, the Trojans look for their first 4-0 start in head coach Chanda Rigby's tenure and first since 1991-92. Troy has started 4-0 just once in program history, beginning the 1991-92 season 6-0 before finishing 20-6. To reach that mark, the Trojans will need their first-ever win over a Big 12 program in their first meeting with the Wildcats (3-2). Troy enters the matchup 0-4 all-time against Big 12 opponents.

Historic Start
For the first time in program history, the Trojans are 3-0 with three consecutive double-digit victories. Their smallest margin of victory came against Chattanooga with a 17-point victory, 73-56. Their other two wins came with a 37-point win over Toledo (88-51) to open the season, followed by a 45-point win against Mississippi Valley State (95-50).
Through their three-game win streak, four Trojans averaged double-digits in the scoring column. Week One Sun Belt Player of the Week Fortuna Ngnawo leads all Trojans with 17.3 points on 57.1 percent shooting from the field, followed by senior forward Zay Dyer at 13.3 – she also leads the Trojans with 13 rebounds per game on a league-high two double-doubles. Senior guard Ashley Baez (11) and freshman Saniya Jackson (10.3) round out the four Trojans in double-figures.
Continuing on her historic path as a Trojan from last year, Dyer leads the conference with two consecutive double-doubles. Her 14-point, 17-rebound performance against Chattanooga pushed her to seventh in career D-I rebounds at 639. She sits eight rebounds from passing Felmas Koranga (646). Dyer is also just 15 points away from reaching 1,000 D-I points in her career, totaling 772 as a Trojan at 213 at Georgia State – she's averaged 9.1 points in her career on 45.7 percent shooting.
Scouting Kansas State
The Wildcats enter Tuesday on a two-game skid following close losses to South Dakota (72-71) and Texas A&M (77-72) after a 3-0 start. Kansas State has been efficient offensively, shooting 45.6 percent from the field while holding opponents to 35.9 percent. Taryn Sides and Nastja Claessens lead the Wildcats with 13.4 and 10 points per game, respectively, with both shooting 50 percent from the field.
