Trojans Set for Sunday Night Matchup at CSUN

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Troy men's basketball continues its six-game road trip on Sunday night at CSUN. The 7 p.m. CT matchup inside Premier American Credit Union Arena will be streamed on ESPN+ and carried on the Troy Sports Media Network.
Troy (3-1) lost its first game of the season on Friday night, falling to LMU, 74–63. The Trojans trailed for most of the night and committed a season-high 20 turnovers. Cooper Campbell led Troy with 16 points, while his brother Cobi turned in his best performance as a Trojan, scoring 15 on 66 percent shooting.
Friday night will mark the first-ever meeting between Troy and CSUN (2-2).

Troy continues its longest road stretch of the season Sunday at CSUN. The Trojans are preparing for game two of a four-game stretch in the state of California. Following the week-long stay in the Golden State, the Trojans head straight to Ft. Myers, Fla., for the Coconut Hoops multi-team event.

CSUN is 2-2 entering Sunday night's game. The Matadors most recently fell to North Dakota St. on Tuesday night. CSUN has impressed on the glass, ranking 36th in the country in offensive rebounds per game with 16.0. Larry Hughes II has paces the Matadors offense, averaging 18.75 points. Joshua O'Garro leads CSUN in rebounding with 9.75 boards per game.

Troy will be back in action on Tuesday night, heading two hours south to San Diego for a matchup against San Diego State. Tip-off is set for 9 p.m. CT on the Mountain West Network.

- Scott Cross is in his seventh season at the helm of the Trojans, amassing a 106-88 record during his time at Troy. Over the last four seasons, Troy has won 20-plus games each year and finished 23-11 last season.

- Troy has been prolific at taking the ball away from its opponents in the early stages of the season, averaging 12.5 steals per game. The number ranks first in the Sun Belt and tenth in the nation. Cooper Campbell leads the team with 11.
- Cooper Campbell took home the season's first Sun Belt Player of the Week Award last week, thanks to two stellar performances from the Puyallup, Wash. native. Campbell averaged 20 points, 5.5 assists, and 5.5 rebounds en route to wins over top mid-major programs in Kent State and Furman.
- The Trojans debuted a new look last week, as the team returns just under 40 percent of its scoring from last year's Sun Belt Championship team. Leading the returning group is junior forward Thomas Dowd, who was named to the Preseason All-Sun Belt First Team in October. Dowd started all but one game last season and will be called upon to take on an even larger role following the departures of the Trojans' two leading scorers from the 2024-25 squad — Tayton Conerway and Myles Rigsby. Dowd has done so thus far, averaging 13.8 points and 9.8 rebounds per game.
