Men’s Basketball Adds Kansas State Transfer Mobi Ikegwuruka

TROY, Ala. - Troy men's basketball has added Kansas State transfer Mobi Ikegwuruka to its 2026-27 roster, head coach Adam Howard announced Wednesday.
Ikegwuruka appeared in 34 games across two seasons with the Wildcats, averaging 2.1 points and 2.3 rebounds in 9.3 minutes per game.
"Mobi is an exciting addition to our program," Howard said. "His experience and athleticism are hard to find and are very valuable. As a former NJCAA All-American and a Power Four contributor at Kansas State, we anticipate him making an immediate impact on our program."
During the 2025-26 season, Ikegwuruka appeared in 10 games with one start. He grabbed a career-high seven rebounds against Bowling Green.
In his first year in Manhattan, Ikegwuruka appeared in 24 games off the bench, scoring a career-high eight points and recording three steals against Oklahoma State. The Galway, Ireland native improved throughout the season, scoring 43 of his 51 points during Big 12 Conference play.
Ikegwuruka began his collegiate career at Ellsworth Community College in Iowa. After redshirting his first season, he averaged a double-double during the 2023-24 campaign with 19.0 points, 10.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.
He led Ellsworth to a 29-8 record and a fourth-place finish at the NJCAA Division II Championship while earning NJCAA Division II Second Team All-America honors. His efforts led him to Fab 50 Freshman selection by JUCORecruiting.com.
Prior to college, Ikegwuruka played for the Irish U16 National Team at the 2019 FIBA European U16 Division B Championship, averaging 11.3 points and 5.9 rebounds.
He has played for multiple teams overseas, including GBA Lions Jindrichuv Hradec in Czechia's 1. Liga and the U19 squads of GBA Lions and Sojky Pelhrimov. Competing with GBA Lions' senior team during the 2022-23 season, he averaged 14.1 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.1 blocks in seven games.
