TROY, Ala. – Following a strong outing at two tournaments last weekend, the Troy men's tennis team travels to Tuscaloosa, Ala., to compete in the ITA Southern Regional. Multiple NCAA Championship bids will be on the line as the Trojans take on teams from around the Southeast.
"We're getting ready to go to Tuscaloosa, and we've prepared very well," said head coach Rolando Vargas. "We're ready for a tough competition – the best teams in the region are all going to be there, and all our players have a spot. We're excited."
All the Trojans will participate in the event, which will begin with a qualifying draw for singles play – Hiiro Sakamoto and Yeray Andres Pastor already have a spot in the main draw. There will be a doubles draw with no qualifying round. Two singles finalists and the doubles team winner from the region will earn an NCAA Championship berth.
