Women’s Golf Closes Fall at The Ally

TROY, Ala. – Troy closes out its fall schedule with its toughest test of the year so far, as the Trojans head to West Point, Miss., and the Old Waverly Golf Club for The Ally, hosted by Mississippi State. The 15-team field includes three of the top 14 teams in the country in No. 10 Arkansas, No. 13 Mississippi State and No. 14 Ole Miss.

Troy finished ninth its last time out behind a pair of top 10 finishes from Victoria Stutts (T6) and Constanza Quiroga (T10). Stutts shot 3-under at the Lady Red Wolves Fall Classic and has led Troy in back-to-back events, with her last five rounds played to a combined 4-under after her first four rounds of the year netted 29-over par.

Quiroga, a true freshman, has carried a top-two bag for the Trojans in three of her four events to begin her collegiate career and carries a 2.33 score vs. par into the week, tied with fellow freshman Evelyn Tankersley for best on the team. Quiroga leads the Trojans with three rounds under-par and 11 of her 12 rounds have counted towards the team card.

In her debut last week, Tankersley improved each round before closing the week shooting even in the final round. Head coach Randy Keck is adding a pair of veterans back to his lineup this week in junior Manya Saini (75.44) and Laura Fangmeyer (77.22) after both sat out last week's event.

Troy shot its best round relative to par last week at the Lady Red Wolves Classic, with a 3-over 291 in the second round thanks to a 69 from Stutts and 70 by Quiroga, while the Trojans' 886 was its best 54-hole score of the year.
