Men’s Tennis Falls to Miami, 4-1

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The Troy men's tennis team fell 4-1 to ACC foe Miami on Monday afternoon at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
Troy (0-2) fought hard in the doubles point but couldn't quite come out with a 1-0 lead. Miami won the first doubles match on Court 1, 6-2. The Trojans responded with a 6-2 win in the No. 3 spot from the duo of Hiiro Sakamoto and Luciano Alcocer. Troy battled tough in the deciding doubles match, but Miami came away with a 6-4 win to take an early 1-0 lead.
The Trojans immediately tied things up in singles, as the Hurricanes had to forfeit the match on Court 6 due to a lack of players. Vicente Arbelaez was credited with the win for Troy.
Miami won in straight sets in the No. 2, 3 and 4 spots. Yeray Andres Pastor and Sakamoto's matches in the No. 1 and 5 spots went unfinished with Miami leading in both matches.
Troy is back in action this Friday for its home opener against Samford. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
