Trojans Pick Up Second Consecutive Win at Nicholls

THIBODAUX, La. - An electric offensive performance from the Troy Trojans catapulted them to their second consecutive victory in a 2-1 win over Nicholls on Tuesday.

The Trojans got off to an early first half lead as Olivia Simpson scored the first goal of her collegiate career in the 12th minute. Freshman Sofia Sasan also got in on the fun, scoring her first career goal in the 31st minute.

Both goals came off an assist from sophomore Danielle Trovato, who had the first multi-assist game of her career. Trovato leads the team with three assists this season, matching her season total as a freshman last fall.

The Trojans finished the match with 18 shots and six shots on goal, both of which were season highs, while the defense was stout allowing only six shots which were also a season best.

The Colonels scored their only goal of the match in the 85th minute. The Trojans held them to just three shots on goal.

Redshirt freshman Georgia Mulholland recorded her first career start.

Grace DeShetler set a new career high in shots (5). She's recorded a shot in 4-of-5 matches this season and her five shots were the most by a Trojan this season.

Danielle Trovato recorded two assists on the day, setting a new career high. She now has three assists this season, matching her total from her freshman season last year.

Delaney Wells finished the match with three shots. She leads the team with nine shots this season.
