TROY, Ala. – Two-time NCAA Starting Five and 2023-24 All-Sun Belt First Team selection Tai'Sheka Porchia joins KS Basket 25 Bydgoszcz for a professional contract in Poland.
"I have no doubt that Tai will be very successful in this opportunity," head coach Chanda Rigby said. "She has continued to work hard almost every day since our season ended. Tai was a winner at Troy and will continue to be a winner at the pro level."
KS Basket 25 Bydgoszcz is located in northwest Poland, and its roster features players from the United States, Poland, England and Serbia. Last season, KS Basket 25 Bydgoszcz finished 10th in their league.
No. 10 for the Trojans, Porchia spent two seasons in the cardinal and white with a combined 39-25, 27-9 SBC record with a fourth and second-place finish for the league. In those two seasons, she started 60 games with the fourth-highest field goal percentage (50.7), seventh-highest scoring average (13.7) and ninth-highest rebounding average (7.6) in Troy D-I history. She also accrued 18 double-doubles, 877 points and 51 double-digit games – had eight with 20-plus points and one with 30-plus to earn 2022-23 All-Sun Belt Third Team and 2023-24 All-Sun Belt First Team.
In her senior season, Porchia shot the eight-best field goal percentage (50.7), tied for the sixth most free throws made (108) and finished eighth for rebounds in a single D-I season at Troy. The Arkansas native erupted against Arkansas State for the 10th-most points in a single game (35) while converting the seventh-most field goals (15) and grabbing a career-high 17 rebounds – also holds the record for most offensive rebounds in a game for recorded history at 11 (Feb. 1 – ULM).
Porchia joins fellow alum Ja'Mia Hollings in signing a professional contract in June 2024.
